This policy explains what Wingdings Translator collects, what it does not, and the choices you have. It applies to wingdings2translator.com.

If you read nothing else, these are the points that matter.
- Your text is never sent to us. Translation happens entirely in your browser.
- Images you read symbols from never leave your device either.
- There are no accounts, so we never ask for your name, email, or password.
- We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful.
- Advertising may appear on the site, served by Google.
- You can opt out of both, and the links to do so are below.
Your text never reaches us
The translator maps every character using a table that is already loaded in your browser.
Nothing you type is transmitted anywhere, including when you copy the result or save it as an image.
This is how the tool is built, not a promise we could quietly change.
A feature that needed to send your text somewhere would be an obvious, opt-in change, and this policy would be updated first.
Images you upload stay on your device
The image reader draws your picture onto a canvas in your browser and matches the shapes there. The file is never uploaded.
The only thing it fetches is a small reference file of symbol shapes, served as a static asset. That request tells us nothing about your image.
The one number we do count
The homepage shows a running total of translations. When you copy or download a result, the site adds one to that total.
That request carries no text and no identifier. It increases a single number by one, and that is the entire message.
What we store on your device
Your light or dark theme choice is saved in your browser's local storage, so the site looks the same on your next visit.
Nothing else is stored, and none of it is transmitted to us. You can remove it by clearing site data in your browser settings.
Share links
The copy link button puts your text into the web address itself, so opening that link loads the translation again.
Anyone you send it to can read the text in it, and it may sit in their browser history.
Treat a share link as public. Do not put anything sensitive through it.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how many people use the site and which pages they find.
It tells us how many visits a page received and roughly which country they came from. It does not tell us who you are.
Google Analytics sets cookies and processes that data on our behalf. It never receives the text you translate, because that never leaves your browser.

Advertising
The site may display advertising served by Google AdSense, to cover hosting and running costs.
Google uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other sites.
You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google's Ads Settings at https://www.google.com/settings/ads.
You can also opt out of third party vendors' advertising cookies at https://www.aboutads.info/choices.
Cookies
Cookies on this site come from Google Analytics and, where ads are shown, from Google's advertising. We set none of our own.
The theme preference above is local storage rather than a cookie. It stays on your device and is never attached to a request.

Where the law requires consent for analytics or advertising cookies, we rely on your consent.
You can withdraw it at any time using the opt-out links above, or your browser's cookie controls.
If you are a California resident, we do not sell or share personal information as the CCPA defines those terms.

Service providers
A small number of third parties are involved in running the site. Each has its own privacy policy.
- Cloudflare, which hosts and serves the site, stores the translation total, and processes request logs for security and reliability.
- Google Analytics, for the anonymous usage statistics described above.
- Google AdSense, where advertising is shown.
Legal bases for processing
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, our legal basis is our legitimate interest.
That interest is understanding how the site is used, and keeping it running securely.
Where consent is required for analytics or advertising cookies, we rely on your consent instead.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you.
In practice we hold none: no account, no profile, no copy of your text, and no copy of your images. For anything else, email contact@wingdings2translator.com.
Data retention and security
Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' own retention settings.
The translation total is a single number with no history attached, so there is nothing about you to retain there.
Your theme preference stays on your device until you clear it, and the site is served over HTTPS.
Because your text and images stay in your browser, the main privacy risk in a tool like this does not arise here.
Children's privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Since we collect no personal information from anyone, there is little scope for this to arise.
International transfers
Our service providers, including Google and Cloudflare, may process data on servers outside your country.
They provide their own safeguards for those transfers under their respective privacy frameworks.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
Material changes appear there before they take effect.
